This is kind of like Hypershift, in that you will have to go through the effort to set it up if you want to take advantage of it, it's not bound by default. Without binding keys to rotate through Keymaps, the keymaps exist but aren't accessible. When you make a Tartarus profile for a game it defaults to only a single keymap and Synapse 3 won't let you have buttons assigned to rotate through keymaps unless you have more than one keymap in existence (and will unbind them if you delete all but one keymap). In this way I was able split those two functions into different buttons despite that not being possible in the game's actual keybinding menu.Īn important note is that the default settings for a Tartarus doesn't do any of this. I also have a separate (thumb pad) key bound with another macro that when activated holds the "F" key long enough to command my pet to attack. In this Fl4k variation the action skill button actually triggers a macro that taps the "F" key once. So, I made a Fl4k specific variation of my normal Borderlands key bindings. I found this frustrating in the middle of hectic battles I sometimes used the wrong version of that button. Tap it to use your action skill, hold it to direct your pet to attack a target. Fl4k in that game is a Beast Master and can direct their pet to attack particular targets, but the button to do this also the action skill activation button: "F" by default. For example, I'm currently playing Borderlands 3. In most cases I get by with 4 or less profiles, which I tend to associate with one of each color light and one of all lights active, but there are 8 distinct combinations possible.Ī common usage for keymaps is to have separate key mappings laid out for different characters or classes in the same game. These keymaps were a part of the much older Belkin Nostromo upon which the Tartarus is based and like the Nostromo of old, you can tell which one is active at any given time by the combination of 3 indicator lights on the side of the Tartarus, just past the direction pad. Within the same profile in Synapse 3 you can have up to 8 separate key mappings, each with their own hypershift, no less.

The Tartarus has keymaps, which are sort of like sub-profiles for a game. I have a Tartarus V2 Chroma and a Naga Trinity, but I assume this trick will also work for other Tartarus models, maybe even Orbweavers too, and other Razer mice as long as they share the same version of Synapse so you can have functions on one device change features of the other.
